About me

I like to draw. Fish, alligators, sometimes dogs. I am passionate about design and business and oatmeal raisin cookies. I have an entrepreneurial spirit, yet I enjoy my work in a corporate setting.  I am obsessed with business development, and with a couple of friends have started a (so far) successful Pet Travel Solutions company (hopefully the first of many).

I strive to open dialogue. I want to collaborate to create world-changing trends and alter the face of modern design as we know it today. I’ve been a professional designer for over a 12 years, I’ve worked freelance, in tiny publishing companies, mid-level boutique agencies and multi-billion dollar Fortune 500 companies. Currently, I’m an associate art director on a multimedia team at a large, multi-national corporation. Which is really great. I’ve been building websites, designing interfaces, art directing films, traveling around the world giving presentations, and leading the team of producers to advanced design knowledge. I am extremely interested in UI design and usability. I love the flow of information and the human psychology aspects of it.

An extremely brief history (taken from an email cover letter I once wrote): I’m Hawaiian (Japanese, Scottish, French, Korean). Went to high school in Anchorage, Alaska. College in Portland, Oregon. Moved to San Diego to become a professional skateboarder. Became a quazi-professional skateboarder. Falling on said skateboard started to hurt, so I went to the Art Institute of California. 4.0 cumulative GPA (hey, it’s the only time I get to say it). After art school, I became an assistant art director at a small publisher. Then I met my future wife and moved to RI. Got a job at my current company on the print team as a graphic designer. After a couple of years I became a senior designer and then a design manager on the multimedia team to run the web advertising team. Made the web ad team exponentially more successful than before and got promoted to the associate art director position I currently hold.

Since there was nothing actually brief about any of that, feel free to contact me if you decided not to read it and want to ask something specific. I’m best found on Twitter @jason_bowden or by filling out the form on the contact page.

Thanks for stopping by!
